For some, it may take time getting use to, but for me, I like the change. Google Instant is a new search enhancement that shows results as you type. This new change will improve search results and performance.

This change will reduce the time it takes to enter a search term. Before Google Instant, the typical searcher took more than 9 seconds to enter a search term according to Google.

In the example below I was searching for Aquarium in Chicago. As you can see, it only took 2 letters to show me what I was looking for. This is pretty neat and what a time saver.

Benefits of Google Instant

Faster Searches: With its predictable search you will see results before you finish typing in your search term. Google Instant can save 2-5 seconds per search.

Smarter Predictions: Even when you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, predictions help guide your search. The top prediction is shown in grey text directly in the search box, so you can stop typing as soon as you see what you need.

Instant Results: Start typing and results appear right before your eyes. Until now, you had to type a full search term, hit return, and hope for the right results. Now results appear instantly as you type, helping you see where you’re headed, every step of the way.

I know some companies will love Google Instant and here’s just a couple of examples. If you type the letter (S), it shows Sears as the first choice. If you type the letter (W), it shows Walmart as the third choice.
