Has it been 3 Months already? April 1st marks 90 days since the last Google PageRank update. The update began yesterday at around 3 PM CST and should continue through Friday morning April 3rd.
How did your PageRank fair? We went up from a PR3 to a PR4 and it wasn’t easy. In the last 90 days we have worked hard in gaining tons of backlinks from trusted sources and websites that had a PR3 or higher.
In a previous post we predicted that the update would start on or around April 8th, we were close! You can read the post at https://www.techjaws.com/google-pagerank-update-coming-soon/.
There were many site owners disappointed with the last toolbar update, but it is important to remember that the toolbar is “not an accurate indicator of how Google ranks or values a site,” as Loren Baker notes at Search Engine Journal. Though it is still a major factor.
There are many tools you can use to see how well your site is doing when it comes to backlinks.
http://www.seorush.com/ (SEORush not only gives you information on backlinks, but a lot more pertinent information about your blog and website).
http://www.seomoz.org/toolbox/backlinks (seomoz.org provides a nice inventory of tools to measure your blog and website. You must have an account which is free).

Tell us how your PageRank score did.
Can’t wait to see the results… so far, I’m still holding at PR4. Thanks for letting us know it’s happening!
~ Kristi
Hope you stay at PR4 worse case. I have seen other blogs go from PR4 to PR2 and I can only imagine how upsetting that is.
Congrats on the bump guys! :) Spark
PR3 to a PR4 still doesn’t get you on the NYC Subway. :)
I will wait and see.
Having moved from PR5 on WordPress over to my own domain was a risk but one that was worth taking. So it will be interesting to see what comes in the forthcoming pageranking. Beyond that, just keep writing and linking LOL
That’s WP rank not yours unfortunately. It’s always best to host your own. Good luck Colin!
This is excellent! I started blog 3 months ago. Just after Google PR was updated. And now I have 3 PR going up from 0! And I am very very satisfied.
Thanks for the info! Stumbled!
Good for you! Awesome job and I am sure you worked your butt off for that!
You know what’s funny? I’ve been looking into the popular sites that generate a lot of income. Some have much lower PR but thousands of subscribers and tons of traffic. So aside from ranking high in search results, I think it’s more beneficial to have more traffic and subscribers than a higher PR.
~ Kristi
It’s better with higher traffic, but the more backlinks the more exposure.
I’m holding steady at PR 5 but quantcast thinks I suck…
PR5? Is that a self hosted or a blogger or WordPress blog? If that’s the case than it really isn’t your doing, but the pages that those hosted blogs serve up.
pr down PR3 to a PR2.. well but i m not working on backlinks or anything :)
Ravi,,
I would not worry about that as it will improve over time.
It’s a woww..we stepped up from 1 to 3.
Faiza,
Congrats on moving on up!
i am not sure how thins time around google work out page rank, cuz some of the websites where i was expecting ups goes down and some where i was thinking will go down gone up, may be i have to alter my thinking then:)

Hi Frank,
I came out with PR3 which is quite pleasing as I moved to my own domain at the end of December. Off to a good start all round :)
All the best
Awesome Colin!!! Plus I have a link on the PR3! A self hosted blog is the way to go bro.
I just bought and revived my site, and just missed this one…. Guess I will be waiting 3 months to see how I am doing… I will try your links though! Thanks
Dylan,
You have time to work on those relevant backlinks. Next update will be around first week of July.
