Below are a few examples on how to get information using Google search. It’s fast and simple to get definitions of words or phrases without the use of a dictionary. Do you need to know your local weather or even flight information? You can get that information as well.
If you want a definition for a word or phrase, type the word “define” then a space, then the word(s) you want defined. To see a list of different definitions from various online sources, you can type “define:” followed by a word or phrase.
See example results below
Definitions of integrity on the Web:
- an undivided or unbroken completeness or totality with nothing wanting; “the integrity of the nervous system is required for normal development.
- moral soundness; “he expects to find in us the common honesty and integrity of men of business”; “they admired his scrupulous professional integrity”
- Integrity is consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations and outcome.
This is a great way to get the proper definitions for words and phrases right from the number one search engine – Google.
There are so many other ways to get information from Google. I added a couple of more below.
Weather Information: To get the local weather just type “weather” space followed by the name of the city and you will get the current weather conditions for the city you have indicated.
Airline Flight Status: To see flight status for arriving and departing, type in the name of the airline and the flight number into the search box. Example: Southwest 812
Pretty cool to be able to get this type of information so fast and easy.
I love that define feature!! It makes me be able to take my foot out of my mouth on occasion
Susie,
I know what your saying and I like how easy it is to use Google for word definitions.
Oh, looks insufficient. I think it would be better if you add some more similar stuffs into this post making it richer.
Anyway, I liked the post though I already know them.
Not sure if I understand as you said it was insufficient than you liked the post.
The first feature is really cool. At least I don’t have to flip through the dictionary or online dictionary.
Sarah,
I am glad you like it and thank you for visiting. Hope you come back again!
I knew about the weather and definition function, but I had no idea about flight status…That is pretty sweet. I will literally use that tomorrow morning, very nice!
Crimecleaner,
You are welcome and what’s you real name?
Hey Frank, My real name is Tyler. I am pretty new to your Blog, but have been checking out pretty much everything on it. I really like it, thanks for the reply
Tyler,
I only ask so that I know who is visiting and I appreciate the info. Though we are a dofollow blog and you do add your link, it’s best to use your name instead of your product or service as many blogs will mark it as spam.
Cool features from Google. By the way, I think Bing is able to check your flight status as well. I saw a small icon under the Bing logo in the commercial. I didn’t try it yet. If someone has tried it, please let us know how it is (mayby compare to the big G.)
Yeah .. I use a lot of searches likes these on my google toolbar .. and especially the weather one, although I have to go into more detail to get results ..
weather victoria beach manitoba
Google Toolbar/search is also good for conversions…
-convert 8 meters to yards
-convert 2 ounces to grams
There’s a partial list of other options you can do here.

Don’t forget using google as a calculator or to convert different units such as temperature.
Calculator example:
Type in google search bar:
81279387651 * 21398654 * 512
Results:
81 279 387 651 * 21 398 654 * 512 = 8.90505981 × 1020
Also …
type in search bar
39 c in f
Results:
39 degrees Celsius = 102.2 degrees Fahrenheit

Chron,
Thank you! You can also use it for a currency converter. There are many things you can do with Google search.
