I am noticing PageRank changes on internal pages only and not the main page. It has been a long time since the last major toolbar update (April 3). This is just another minor update that started last night around 6:00 PM CT. This update reflects changes on internal pages and not the main page (Homepage).
In this minor update, you may notice that any new domains that were listed as N/A have changed from N/A to something higher. Any website that had a Pagerank higher than N/A, will not change in this minor update.
Google has been going through a lot of changes that will certainly improve search and because of all these new changes, Google has been a little tardy on the next major Pagerank update. The next major Pagerank update will be the first since the launch of Caffeine.
Don’t get too crazy or even upset over Pagerank, because the only thing that matters most is SERPs (Search Engine Results Page) and not PR. If you are ranking high for keyword terms, this is where most of your traffic from Google is coming from and not PR.
What’s Google PageRank?
Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. Google looks at more than just the volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important”.

When is the next Google Pagerank Update?
What Im curious about is the next SERP update. If Im not mistaken the last one was on August 3rd. I still have several keywords around position 8, 9 on the first page. Id like to see those spring up!!
It is already a long time ago since the last big PR Update.
Yeah one of my blogs went from n/a to 0 today. I am still waiting on a pr change for my other blogs though. But, yeah it happens when it happens I guess it has been awhile. Waiting a bit longer wont kill me.
Malik,
That confirms that blogs or sites that were N/A did receive an update. Kudos!
I know about this PR depends on inner pages. We have to work on SERP results and Traffic. Thanks for the update.
I have over 100 sites, all with homepage pr unchanged, yet inner pages are jumping around a bit – quite a few have lost pr but I had a problem with links disappearing. Does anyone know if this is the start of a full update or the same as the July tweek? Not seen home pages change sice April….
Ste,
Last update was on April 3 and this one is really delayed. I am not so concerned with PR as much as SERP.
It’s not finally update yet and I don’t see any change in all of my blogs yet. Still hope !
My website PR updated from N/A to 0.I think its a good sign..valid information from techjaws..i like it..
do you have any info about major update. My blog never got PR and I still in waiting for major update with great expectation
I think 1 October it’s the day of new update Google page rank. for me My blog is new But I use I lots Of seo tricks And I get For Now 40 visit from search engine every day With page rank 0 , MMMM…… If I get Page 4 For the next update That’s will be good
My blog had a Pagerank increase from 0 to 1.Tough I expected more.Nevertheless there is an increase at least.I have heard that Google update their PageRank after 4 months so may be then, there will be a big PageRank update.Waiting for it.
Thanks for the post man.
Let’s hope to have it updated in the first week of Oct this time.
Some people only look at PR and get all worried when it drops, concentrate on important things like links, sales and conversions.
Douglas,
So true and it’s all about natural search. Showing up high in SERP is much more important than PR.
Ours seem to have changed too.
iam sad :(
I am created my first site about 4 months ago when it was the last PR update, still my PR is 0, but my traffic is increasing day by day.I think it is good signification.Hope PR update will be very very soon.
Beba,
If your traffic is increasing than people like what you write. I say this all the time – “Content is King!”
I agree that Content is King.
This was a huge deal, not something minor. Read the other forums. Alot of small businesses went to absolute 0. We’re approaching our 1 year anniversary. By month 3 we earned PR4, and in the past week or so plummeted to absolute 0. We follow all the rules. Have excellent in links, functionality, original content, etc., and were wiped out of PR, and so were alot of other sites less than one year old. So far it’s not affecting our organic results, but still very disheartening. We understand they don’t want to give away their secret measuring stick, but what’s the point of trying to play by all the rules, if the carpet can ripped out from under the small businesses not spamming and trying hard to play fair?
Id love to see google update soon. Hopely this october like you said.
Too much emphasis has been put on it even when Google says its not related to SERPs.
I hope next pagerank update will be soon.
Next PR update will be at the end of December (probably the 30th or the 31st). Gogle does that every year. You should not count on it too much anyway, since PR won’t determine how well your site ranks for your keywords.
I totally agree with you that Search Engine Ranking placement is more important than PR, but PageRank is a verification of trust whether we want to admit it or not.
Let me give you a quick example:
Lets assume that we’ve found a great discount on a product or service we want to purchase that is only available in two unknown to us websites.
Which website do you think that we should trust most? The one that has a PageRank 0 or the one that has a PageRank 6?
SERPs bring traffic but PR is an indication of trust and power.
Me too! Thanks for commenting!
Waiting for pr update. Hope this pr also having the great pr for the websites. my new website is a PR 0 now.
