I received an email purporting to be from Yahoo V.P. of corporate communications Heather Norman, claiming that I won an iPad. The email is not from Yahoo, it is a scam to collect personal identifiable information. If you click on the link inside the email, you will be sent to a fake Facebook page asking you to take poll.
The link inside the email goes to http://newrewardsblock.com/ that mimics Facebook to fool users into thinking they won an iPad 2. If you select whether you like their new features or not, you are then taken to another site where you have to enter your email. Once you enter your email, you are then taken to an online form where you have to provide personal information.
If you receive an email from Yahoo V.P. of corporate communications Heather Norman, claiming you won an iPad 2, you should delete the email immediately. All sites related to this scam have a poor reputation and are known spammers.

I received an email from “yahoo v.p. Laura Harrison” on April 14th, 2012 claiming I had been chosen for a free Apple Ipad 2 Giveaway. I didn’t click on the link .. I google’d it to see if it was a scam and came across this. Figure’d I’d point out they’re obviously using multiple names.

If you have received email at your inbox or spam folder, be sure that you read and research if it was true or not. If someone says that you won a prize or they choose you to be the receiver of any money or what so ever. I am sure it is a scam. Always be Careful.
These guys make me sick! I was scammed when the kindles first came out, got an email saying that I had won, was taken to a site that all seemed legitimate, then I had to enter my payment details for shipping, then bam! Got a call from my CC company two days later, but luckily I was covered.
Within the last week, I received an email from “Heather Norman” with the same message and after looking around, put it in my spam folder. To my surprise, this morning when I opened my email, there was the same email, this time from “Doris Evans” -same position and everything. Another name to add to the list.
Susan Gladwell is now “sending” the email. When things seem to good to be true I usually assume scam.

There are a few versions circulating with different names. I am amazed that Yahoo hasn’t stopped these emails, but again, Yahoo has lost its edge.
I, too, received an email from Susan Gladwell, claiming to be a VP of Yahoo, Inc. She informed me that I had won an IPad from Apple as a promotion of some sort. I clicked on a linkage that brought me to a site that asked whether I like the site or not. I did not click either one, and just X’d out. Was this teaser for real?

Notice the content in the email body is actually an image. I believe the scammers do this so Yahoo can’t scan the message body.
I was just browsing on Photobucket when this advert came across the entire page claiming to be from android saying that I had won an iPad 2. I thought ‘what rubbish’ and pressed back and went back to what I was doing. Why would android (Google) be giving away misc (Apple) products, it makes no sense? Besides the advert came up on my android tablet (Android Xoom), an iPad is just another type of tablet, I don’t need another one. But then the advert came back again and again and again. It just wouldn’t go away. And that is where I am at right now.

Scan your computer with Malwarebytes (download it free) and any other virus protection you have. The ads are appearing possibly due to Malware or a Trojan.
