One good reason to update your WordPress installation to 3.1.4 is the security fixes in this release. WordPress 3.1.4 addresses a security vulnerability that could allow a malicious editor-level user to gain further access to the site.
In addition to security fixes, there are a number of other fixes in this latest release from WordPress. To upgrade to 3.1.4, go to your Dashboard (admin console) and select “Automatic Update”. It is very important that you backup your WordPress database before upgrading. If you would like to manually upgrade your WordPress installation, visit this link.
A third release candidate (RC3) for WordPress 3.2 has also been published. In the announcement, WordPress Lead Developer Ryan Boren said that “This release was about all that stood in the way of a final release of WordPress 3.2.” WordPress 3.2 RC3 contains all of the fixes included in 3.1.4, as well as JavaScript and user interface tweaks.
WordPress version 3.2 requires PHP 5.24 and MySQL 5.0.
WordPress is really great in all force of innovations. I do have some blogs in wordpress.I thank them for making such innovations and news things of features. Thumbs up for this post!
thanks for information, I will wait for WP ver 3.2/
I think this problem has been solved with WordPress 3.2
What problem?
The most easy way to do backup is to install a backup plugin where you can get backups to your email with push of a button. Then you can easily update the WP inside the dashboard after the backup and don’t have to access cpanel or any other control panel.
Mark,
Scheduled backups work well and I rather push them to my server instead of receiving emails.
Thanks for posting this useful information. This was just what I was on looking for. I’ll come back to this blog for sure! I bookmarked this blog a while ago because of the useful content and I am never being disappointed. Keep up the good work.
This is really good that word press update it’s solve the problem of 3.2. and good for security.
WordPress keeps things updated as soon as an exploit and or security hole is discovered.
