TomTom the GPS manufacturer unveiled its application for the iPhone, bringing maps and voice-guided directions to the smartphone. The biggest boon for drivers is the addition of the audible prompts, since the current iPhone is only able to provide text-based instructions through Google Maps. In addition, TomTom will offer a car kit for the iPhone, which includes a vehicle mount and car charger.
All you need is:
- The TomTom app including the latest maps (coming soon to the iTunes App Store)
- The TomTom car kit that offers secure docking, enhanced GPS performance, clear voice instructions and hands-free calling, while charging your iPhone at the same time.
On the flip side, iPhone 3G is now priced at $99. A newer version of the iPhone is expected. Apple unveiled two new models of the iPhone — the 3G S — that will sport a faster processor and sought-after features like an internal compass, a video camera and an improved photo camera. A 16-gigabyte version of the 3G S will cost $199 and a 32-gigabyte model will be $299.
Never get lost again using your iPhone with TomTom.
