Two weeks ago more than 70 million PlayStation users were weary and concerned when a data breach occurred on Sony’s PlayStation network. The PlayStation network attack was serious as the hackers were able to obtain user data including addresses, dates of birth, PSN online IDs and PSN passwords.Xbox Live Phishing Attacks

The next round of attacks is now moving to another gaming platform network. Microsoft is warning users about phishing attempts that target users with specific messages while playing Modern Warfare 2 as indicated on its Xbox LIVE Status page. Microsoft said that the issue seems to only affect users connected to the internet playing the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 first-person shooter video game. Microsoft says that it is aware of the issues and is working to resolve the problem.

  • Users may receive potential phishing attempts via title specific messaging while playing Modern Warfare 2.
