I hadn’t heard of this scam and purchase Kindle books every few days so assumed this was an order I had forgotten about. :( I clicked on the link and when a different url started to pop up, I closed out of the page quickly. I have run my virus scan (Microsoft Security Essentials) but it has found nothing. Could my computer become infected that quickly, just by popping onto that site for three or four seconds, or am I most likely safe? Thanks so much!
Stacie,
You can be affected in a second, but if you don’t see any weird behavior with security alerts, you should be fine.
Good thing I googled before I clicked the link. Thanks for posting this. Sent to spam and posted this on facebook.
Jessica,
Thank you for sharing this on Facebook!
I contacted Amazon directly before clicking on any link. I have not purchased anything from them in a long time, so I thought someone was using my account. They indicated everything was fine and that I should delete the email immediately.
I was checking my E-Mail through my phone when i stupidly clicked the link, however the website never came up because it timed out the first time and it took forever to load so i stopped it two other times, if the page never displayed am I still at risk? I ran an anti spyware malware program(lookout-securtiy app) and it found nothing I’m really worried.I know better just a lapse of judgement and being tired HELP! thank you.
Justin,
If the page didn’t load you should be fine.
P.S.
Do you know any good Anti spyware/malware besides the one I used that I can download and try.
I want to get rid of this if I have it
Justin,
Two programs I use for Malware and Spyware detection and removal are Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware.
Thank you
will those two programs work with android phones?
Justin,
Don’t think so, only PC…
Are you sure that it came from Amazon ???
