With all the press about Microsoft and Yahoo, and of course the retirement of Bill Gates, what will come next? I for one can tell you that Microsoft is hurting a little with the failure to acquire Yahoo, and the lack luster following of Vista.
Can Microsoft turn it around? I think Microsoft is really reeling at this moment and I don’t see it leveling out until mid-2009. As for Yahoo, it’s going to be a battle that could turn into a lot of blood shed. Let’s look at the facts; Top executes leaving, talented employees gone, and now Google comes out with another one- two punch with their all new PC to TV experience.
We are now half way through 2008 and I see nothing significant coming out of either the Microsoft or Yahoo camp. What can we expect? Has anyone noticed that Linux and Apple have been the talk of the town?
I strongly think that both Microsoft and Yahoo need each other. Yahoo has sat on their hands for the last 3 to 4 years while Google has made major strides, with many great features for its fan base. Microsoft failed with Vista and Windows 7 is not even on the radar yet. It’s time to challenge the internet space and that will only come if these two tie the knot.
Hey Decker! You need to stop telling us your deep in talent as every bench in sports can get lean at any given time.
What are your thoughts on the survival for both Microsoft and Yahoo?
Microsoft says Windows 7 should be out in 2009. It was marketing that got them to the top, but the competition this time, (Google), is too much for them in my opinion!
And Linux is making major headway. What Linux needs is for some major software companies like Adobe to start producing a version for the Linux platform.
Get the feeling I’m not a big Microsoft fan?
