After deliberating the case of Lori Drew for six hours Tuesday, jurors asked U.S. District Judge George Wu if they could be hung on one count but unanimous on the others. Wu ordered them to continue deliberations for a second day, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

There are a total of 4 counts and the jury is locked in with a decision on 3 of the 4. I think the one that they’re hung on, is the charge that violates MySpace terms of use.

In my opinion, regardless of the violation of MySpace terms of use, Lori Drew pushed the emotional state of Megan Meier to commit suicide. That’s a crime in itself and she needs to be punished!

Drew has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and accessing computers without authorization. She could be sentenced to as many as 20 years in prison if convicted of all counts.

Update 1:22 PM CST: A jury has convicted a Missouri mother of lesser, misdemeanor crimes in the MySpace cyber-bullying case linked to a 13-year-old girl’s suicide.

The Los Angeles federal court jury on Wednesday rejected felony charges of accessing a computer without authorization to inflict emotional distress on young Megan Meier.

However, the jury found defendant Lori Drew guilty of three counts of the lesser offense of accessing a computer without authorization.

The jurors could not reach a verdict on a conspiracy count.
