I was bored yesterday and decided to hook up my spare PC to my big screen LCD TV to stream Netflix movies. I had everything set up within an hour and decided to browse through the “Watch Now” movies. I came across a classic movie from Led Zeppelin called “The Song Remains the Same”. I sat back and watched Jimmy Page and John Bonham jam to classics such as “Since I been Loving You” and the long version of “Dazed and Confused”.

It has been years since I watched this rock movie, but it still feels like yesterday when I bought my fist Led Zeppelin album “Led Zeppelin I”.

I was very fortunate that I grew up around the time when some of the greatest rock bands were formed. My High School was divided between Dead Heads and Zep Heads, but we all got along no matter what music we listened to.

I remember my friends would argue about who was the best living guitar player and I would always’ say Jimmy Page. They would argue that Jeff Beck and or Eric Clapton were the best guitar virtuosos, but I stood strong and believed that not only was Jimmy Page a great guitar player, but also one of the best producers and song writers.

Those days will never be forgotten and I hope the kids today realize that the bands from the 60’s and 70’s paved way for many of the sounds and styles of today’s rock bands.
