Jimmy Page and Robert PlantI have been a Led Zeppelin fan since 1973, and I had the privilege to see them once. I was really hopeful for one last encore to see them again before geriatrics takes over the greatest rock band of all time.

Led Zeppelin band members held auditions to replace lead vocal Robert Plant who did not wish to make a comeback.

There will not be a swan song as none of the singers for the audition worked out, the band decided to do away with the idea of a tour, revealed guitarist Jimmy Page’s manager, Peter Mensch.

American singer/songwriter Myles Kennedy of the Alter Bridge has revealed that he is grateful to have been given the chance to play alongside Led Zeppelin.

Kennedy himself revealed that he did try out for a place in the group, and is disappointed not to have been included in any of their future plans, though he is happy he was able to join them for a jam session.

“I am not singing in Led Zeppelin or any offshoot of Led Zeppelin, but I did have a great opportunity and it was something that I’m very grateful for. But Alter Bridge will go on, and that’s that,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

Farewell Led Zeppelin, you will never be forgotten!
