A free computer game went online Friday that challenges players to become the next “Hero on the Hudson” by safely landing a virtual passenger jet on the New York City waterway.
The streamed game warns players that both jet engines are disabled, it is impossible to make it to an airport, and they must crash land in the Hudson River in a virtual version of the US Airways miracle landing on January 15.
On Saturday the gaming site tastyplay.com that hosted this game was down with a message “Host Exceeded CPU Quota”. When we checked the site today the account is now suspended. We checked the whois database to see who hosted tastyplay.com and the domain name servers pointed to bluehost.com.
This is normal practice for shared hosting accounts to be suspended if they exceed cpu quota. If an account on a shared hosting plan utilizes more than 50% of the total cpu for 30 minutes, the account will be shut down. Hosting companies do this to ensure other shared accounts on the same server are still accessible and not affected by one account hogging all the resources.
