Google Toolbar UpdateThe last Google Toolbar update also known as Pagerank was on or around December 30, 2009. I verified this from seeing some changes on my inner-pages that now have a Pagerank. Google had a Pagerank update last April 1st and I was thinking it could happen again this year. I was surfing around and it looks like some people are seeing spikes so this could be possible that there’s a Google Toolbar update underway or at least by this weekend.

If you’re anticipating an up click and it doesn’t go your way, don’t fret it. Many of us look forward to the Toolbar update while some just don’t care. If your Pagerank went south, it could be that the backlinks you had are no longer valued as high as they once were by Google.

Google is going through many changes with the new Caffeine and I am sure webmasters will see a lot of crazy things happening over the next couple of months or so. It is hard to determine when an update occurs, but according to the trend, it is usually 3 to 4 months on average.

If your traffic continues to be steady or increases than I would not get too worried if your Pagerank went down. Pagerank is still a major factor in measuring the value and quantity of links to your web site.

Prediction: Google Pagerank update will start over the weekend, but I could be far off, but I am feeling confident.
