New York Times reported that Seth MacFarlane, the creator of “Family Guy,” will start “Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy”, which Google will syndicate (using AdSense) to thousands of Web sites that fit with MacFarlane’s target audience. Instead of a static ad, Google will place the video clip on the site.

This is really strange. I can’t believe that Google would alienate YouTube. What are they thinking? Google is much smarter than this, but I am really confused on this strategy.

I think Google forgot to check that YouTube has really no potential prospects and no advertising on its platform. Google landed a big fish with making a deal with the world’s most popular cartoonist, but you would think they would spread the cheer with YouTube.

Google believes that this deal will increase revenue, but it still doesn’t solve the one problem it can’t figure out: YouTube is becoming the company’s thoroughbred.

Google start looking the gift horse in the mouth!
