Firefox 3.5 is almost here, are you ready?
Mozilla plans to issue Firefox 3.5 final version tomorrow, according to Firefox director Mike Beltzner. The version has been delayed for several months, but it will be here in 24 hours? We hope!
Mike Beltzner gives a quick preview of what’s new and exciting in Firefox 3.5, coming tomorrow from Mozilla.
Firefox 3.5 comes with a load of new features–5,000 total, according to Mozilla. Among the major ones: built-in video; local storage to enable richer Web applications that can work even with no network connection; a private browsing mode; geolocation to aid Web pages that can benefit from knowing a user’s location; and faster performance loading pages and executing Web-based JavaScript programs.
“We’ve added technology we think upgrades the Web itself,” Beltzner said.
Get ready to get even more foxy tomorrow!
Exciting stuff! I hope that all of my extensions will survive this upgrade.

Frank, I’ll let you and Kristi go first while I wait for feedback!
Jonathan,
No problem being a guinea pig here. I been in that roll my whole life having two younger siblings.
I will update as soon as it’s available as well. I don’t have that many plugins so i am pretty confident i won’t stumble into any trouble… Hope it get’s lighter as well (it’s one heavy fox if you see my point :D ).
I guess when my Firefox crashes in the future – I will not only be able to restore the last window that crashed my system .. but the one before it! Woohoo!
I always hate when they update also FF has been running slow as compared to other Browsers lately.
I was using 3.5 beta 4 it sucked LOL :)
hey it’s Free and I do appreciate it
I was just trying to be funny FAIL LOL :)
This one I’m using 3.0.1.1 doesnt crash as much
but it can go slow on me once in a while and Flock wont when I check;)
anyway will give it a try thanks
John,
FF3.5 will be faster at least that is the claim. I know they improved on how it handles Java. Will soon find out.
I’ve had quite some crashes with the last available version also. I’m sure this version will really be a lot faster and light weight, since the competition is rougher than ever.
Amdrew.
The browser is going to handle Java much better and faster.
wow,
this is a very nice news. Can’t wait to update my FF. I even think that the current FF version is fast and now 3.5 will be faster. Well i just need to find out.
Thanks for the info
Hopefully this will be a big improvement over FF 3 – that browser has some serious issues on Debian. FF 2 was fine.
