Once again another stalker app claiming to show you who has looked at your profile and or photos showed up on Facebook Saturday, February 5, but this time Facebook was on the case rather quickly.Facebook Stalker App

According to Facebook: “Don’t believe any applications that claim they can show you who’s viewing your profile or photo. They can’t.”

If you see any app claiming it can show you who has viewed your profile and or photos, don’t allow the application, deny it or just don’t take any action.

These types of apps are dangerous and the developers create them in order to make money by redirecting users to sites containing viruses and malicious software.

How do these developers make money?

The developers of such malicious apps peddle rogue anti-spyware and antivirus programs that are distributed via a Trojan and/or web pop-ups when a user visits a malicious site they’re redirected to. These fake antivirus programs are installed without the user’s knowledge. Once installed, the user will be alerted with false threats on the computer. In order to remove these false threats, the user will have to pay for a full license of the software.

The most popular rogue antivirus still in the wild is System Tool or SystemTool. If you are infected by the Security Tool or System Tool, I have included 6 steps on how to remove this Rogue Security Program.

At this time, it looks like Facebook has taken action against the Stalker app, but users should still watch for other variations that may appear on their Facebook wall.
