A day after winning seven Grammy nominations, the members of Coldplay were served with a copyright infringement lawsuit Thursday that claims they ripped off guitarist Joe Satriani to write one of their biggest hits, “Viva La Vida.”
There’s no doubt that Coldplay ripped off Joe Satriani’s 2004 instrumental “If I Could Fly.” You be the judge and let us know your opinion.
LOL – that was one masterful video investigation. I believe it’s a copy. There are thousands of songs for example using these 4 popular keys/chords: G – Bm – C – D but more or less they all sound unique.
But this one… I remember Vanilla Ice’s only hit – and it was a disaster.
Nice one Frank!
Thanks Bloggista! You’re right, many songs do sound a like, but not as a like as this one.
My verdict is GUILTY as charged.
I agree as well, they’re guilty!
Oh, holy damn! Someone assist Coldplay! They need help pulling their pants back up on this one!
LOL – Good one Jilli!
My sweet Lord!
Guilty as charge. I hope they can get out fast or else die trying.
They may be back peddling for a long time and also lose some fans.
