Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, has just sold the magic 10 millionth copy of the popular game. This milestone is very hard to come by, and the folks over at Infinity Ward did just that. COD 4 was also named Game-of-the-Year by MSNBC in January 2008.
COD 4 is one of only 10 games since 2000 to reach the milestone. Activision has made hundreds of millions of dollars with this game.
COD 4 had been most successful on the Xbox, with Guitar Hero III, Halo 3, and Grand Theft Auto IV having record-setting sales in their own right. We may easily see a few more games reach the magic 10 million mark soon.
The next Call of Duty, COD 5, which is being produced by Tryarch, and not Inifinity Ward, might see even bigger numbers.
